🍓 Strawberry Wine Fest Comes to Sunset Beach

A Sweet Celebration Supporting a Piece of Local History

There’s something special about spring along the Brunswick Islands—the sunshine, the coastal breeze, and now… the return of one of the sweetest events of the season.

The Strawberry Wine Fest is coming to Sunset Beach Town Park, bringing together winea lovers, strawberry enthusiasts, and the local community for a day filled with flavor, fun, and purpose.

Join the celebration on Sunday, April 28 from 12 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., where this nonprofit fundraiser invites guests to enjoy the afternoon for a suggested $5 donation per person.

🍷 More Than a Festival—It’s a Cause

This isn’t just about sipping wine and enjoying strawberries (although there will be plenty of both 😉).

The event is proudly supporting the Old Bridge Preservation Society, a local nonprofit dedicated to preserving the historic Sunset Beach swing bridge—one of the last remaining structures of its kind in North Carolina.

By attending, you’re not just enjoying a great day—you’re helping protect a meaningful piece of Sunset Beach history for generations to come.

🌅 Hidden Gem: The Kindred Spirit
Mailbox at Sunset Beach

As the weather starts warming up and those coastal breezes feel just right, there’s one quiet spot in Brunswick County that’s worth the walk.

Tucked along Bird Island at Sunset Beach sits the beloved Kindred Spirit Mailbox — a simple wooden mailbox that has become one of the most meaningful places along our coast.

The walk itself is part of the magic.

You’ll follow the shoreline past the crowds, listening to the waves, watching the dunes, and letting the world slow down a little. It’s peaceful. It’s quiet. It’s grounding.

And at the end of the walk, you’ll find the mailbox — filled with notebooks where visitors leave letters, prayers, reflections, memories, and dreams.

Some are joyful.
Some are heartfelt.
Some are deeply personal.

All are reminders that we’re more connected than we think.
