THE BRUNSWICK COUNTY THRIFT TRAIL
One County. Four Routes. Countless Treasures.

Your guide to thrift stores, resale shops, consignment finds & vintage treasures across Brunswick County.
There’s something about the thrill of a good thrift-store find.
Maybe it’s the coastal artwork that looks like it was made for that empty wall. A vintage dish tucked behind a stack of plates. The perfect piece of furniture for the beach house. A designer label hiding on the clothing rack.
Or maybe it’s something you absolutely did not need — but for $6, there was no way you were leaving without it.
Here in Brunswick County, we have plenty of places to hunt.
So grab a friend, clear a little room in the trunk and get ready.
We’re hitting the Brunswick County Thrift Trail!

🤠 YOU REALLY NEVER KNOW
WHAT YOU’LL FIND
This story was too good not to share.
Communities In Schools of Brunswick County recently shared the story of a shopper who stopped by its Shallotte thrift shop and spotted a custom cowboy hat for $20.
He bought it.

Later, he learned the hat had reportedly been valued at nearly $2,000.
$20 → NEARLY $2,000.
Now THAT is the thrill of the hunt.
And while we can't promise there's another $2,000 cowboy hat waiting on the next shelf, stories like this are exactly why thrift shoppers keep coming back.
Today's ordinary-looking find could turn out to be tomorrow's treasure.
SOMETIMES THE BEST BARGAIN
IS ONE THAT GIVES BACK
Something else makes Brunswick County's thrift scene pretty special.
Many of the stores along the trail aren't just selling donated treasures — they're helping fund programs and services right here in our community.

Your purchases at participating nonprofit thrift stores can help support:
❤️ Brunswick County students
❤️ Local seniors
❤️ Families and young people in need
❤️ Recovery and re-entry programs
❤️ Affordable housing initiatives
❤️ Healthcare and community programs
❤️ Domestic violence services
❤️ Local outreach
So that $8 lamp you couldn't leave behind?

🛍️ THRIFTING 101

A Few Rules From the Treasure-Hunting Playbook
GO OFTEN.
Inventory can change every single day.
MEASURE BEFORE YOU GO.
Know the size of that empty wall, nook or furniture space — and keep a tape measure in the car!
LOOK HIGH AND LOW.
Some of the best finds aren't sitting at eye level.
CHECK FURNITURE CAREFULLY.
Open drawers. Look underneath. Check the back.
IF YOU LOVE IT, THINK TWICE BEFORE LEAVING IT.
Unlike shopping at a big-box store, there probably isn't another one in the stockroom.
And perhaps the most important rule...
BRING A FRIEND.
Because every good treasure hunt needs someone to say:
“For $8? GET IT.” 😂
